The Swedish company Volvo announced the launch of a new electric car in serial production, which was built on the basis of a hatchback since last fall, 50 such cars took part in large -scale tests, all of them demonstrated excellent results and this deserved the right to start serial production. By the end of next year, VOLVO plans to release only 250 such cars, but if the demand from motorists will increase, then the number of cars produced will increase.
Representatives of the Austrian division of VOLVO also reported their interest in the new model. Today, electric cars have great demand in all developed countries where problems with fuel often arise. According to representatives of VOLVO, this model will be offered in the markets of many countries. The main at the moment is that during numerous tests all problems and shortcomings were eliminated.
Swedish designers prudently worried about the safety of future owners, having equipped the car with a huge number of various security systems and assistance to the driver. Currently, the main task for the company’s specialists is to increase the range. The electric car was tested in the conditions of the Extreme Climate of the North, where the batteries often lost their charge. But Volvo engineers found out the reason and claim that the electric car is able to overcome ninety kilometers at a temperature on the street -10 degrees and about eighty kilometers at a temperature of -33 degrees.
The car will be driven by an electric motor with a capacity of 110 liters. With., which is powered by a lithium battery. The electric car will be able to drive 150 km on one full charge (7 hours) of the battery. The maximum speed of the model is 130 km \ hour.
