We are so accustomed to the noise of the city that we practically do not notice it. At the same time, the automotive industry does not stand still and more and more cars are being created. Electric cars were created one of the latter. The main advantage of this car is that it absolutely does not pollute the atmosphere with its exhausts, as it has an electric engine. However, it was this “green” engine that became the main reason for discontent with these cars – it is all about their noiselessness. Yes, it was the silent work of the engines of these cars that has become the negative factor that is a lack of electric vehicles and which can cause many troubles. We are so accustomed to the fact that when moving, the car makes the sound of the engine that we often orient ourselves about the approach of the car without turning our heads, it is precisely by the sound of its engine. However, this is absolutely not suitable in order to recognize the approach of electric vehicles, since they move silently. In order to get rid of noiselessness, Audi specialists decided to equip their electric cars with a special simulator of the sound of the fuel engine.
The need to equip electric vehicles by imitators of sounds has long been spoken and in many countries. This is especially true for people who have vision problems and are used to navigating the world around them exclusively relying on their own hearing. However, hearing a barely audible sound of the rustling of the tires on the asphalt and the almost inaudible sound of the electric motor work, in the surrounding “habitual” noise of the city, cannot do anyone. Therefore, most countries at the legislative level oblige automobile manufacturers to equip their electric cars with imitators of the sound of fuel engines. In particular, such a law was adopted recently and in America.
Audi has seriously approached the fulfillment of this condition. On all its electric cars, it sets sound sources that simulate the operation of the fuel engine of cars, an exact copy of the electric car. For this, in a special studio, the engine is recorded at different speeds and loads so that later the speed of the electric car corresponds to the sound that it will make at the same time. At the same time, the system developed by specialists from Audi allows you to generate a sound with an accuracy of a millisecond, which coincides with what kind of sound makes a fuel engine when the loads arising during acceleration.
