The Korean company Raonhaje has developed an electric “ship” EGO, which is a cross between the submarine and the usual boat. Its difference from most personal submarines, for example, from UBOATWORX is that it does not need the mandatory presence of the captain, and also does not need special documents for the right to manage a boat. Ego is not much different from Adventure-Doo. In fact, this is a boat turned upside down. The cabin on EGO is replaced by a two-seater cabin, which is located below the waterline between 2 floating buildings, the staircase connects with the upper deck. Since the craft cannot completely immerse himself under water, the developer provides for his design simplicity and ease of management. The movement back or forward is carried out by clicking the circuit breaker, and the speed is adjustable using the pedal.
The developer insists that EGO is not a boat equipped with a glass bottom, it positions it as a “semi -submarine”, thanks to which passengers can not only enjoy the underwater world, but also catch fish or sunbathe on the upper deck. Since it does not plunge completely under water, there is no need for oxygen cylinders. However, we must carefully monitor how charged the battery, so as not to find yourself with a stalled engine in the open sea.
The maximum boat speed is 2 km/h or five nodes, the maximum travel time with cruising speed, provided that the battery is complete charging is 8 hours. Then you will need to wait from 6 to 9 hours, while the battery is fully charged and will be ready for the next trip. EGO windows are made of acrylic material used in aquariums. This material misses 92 % of the world, it is two hundred times stronger than glass of the same thickness. The ship is equipped with a LCD monitor connected to a camera located in the upper part of the cabin, sea warden of the radio, a battery monitoring system, a digital echo sounder that gives a sound signal if EGO is in the shallow water zone.
The company positions EGO as a ship that can be used in sea resorts. It is produced in seven colors.
