Modern electric cars are deprived of the opportunity to overcome long distances due to a limited stock of their course, which is determined by the ratio of volume of the severity of batteries, which they use as a source of energy. Therefore, most often they are used to travel short distances and mainly in a city where it is possible to recharge the battery if necessary.
However, there is such a type of car as hybrid. They have two types of engine, one electric, and the second standard internal combustion engine. Such cars are much more environmentally friendly when comparing them with “classic” cars that have exclusively internal combustion engines. They can also drive a distance inaccessible to cars with an exclusively electric engine. The record holder among such hybrid cars is the EDISON2 EVLC car.
The abbreviation EVLC means “Very Light Car”. And it is really very light, the weight of this hybrid car is only 468 kilograms. The prefix “Edison2 ″, present at the beginning of the name of the car, expresses respect for one of the greatest minds of all of humanity – Thomas Edison.
The last year, when the dog bags reached the peak of popularity, Edison2 EVLC became the winner in competitions among hybrid cars and won such a prestigious prize as x rriza Mainstream Class. In order to become a winner, the EVLC hybrid car overcame the batteries and one gallon of gasoline, about 4.5 liters, a distance of 245 miles, about 304 kilometers on one full charge of the battery. A similar unique achievement was immediately entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
At the beginning of this year, a team of engineers additionally made improvements to the technical characteristics of this car, as a result of which he was able to show even more impressive results. According to representatives of the manufacturer, EVLC was able to overcome a distance of 310 miles, 499 kilometers. However, in order for this result to be officially accepted and, accordingly, it is necessary to wait for the next competition of x rriza Mainstream Class.
However, engineers stop at the achieved, are not going to. The company is developing that this hybrid car was able to overcome 424 miles, 682 kilometers at one gas station, and this is already a sufficiently serious result that brings it closer to the trip to standard cars with the internal combustion engine.
