According to scientists, by 2050, about 9.3 billion people will live on our planet. At the same time, about 6.4 billion people will live in cities. Based on this, as well as given the increasing demand for personal road transport, the current indicators of car production will have to increase four times. Such an increase in road transport on the roads, of course, will extremely negatively affect their throughput and most likely lead to grandiose traffic jams. At the same time, many of the world car manufacturers have already begun to develop a “car of the future”.
Similar work is carried out in the Ford automobile company, which is carried out together with the partner of this automobile manufacturer – SCHAEFFLER. The new development of the company is called Ewheldrive. It is this car, as the company believes, will become the “king of roads” in the future, or rather, “the king of traffic jams”. At first glance, the conceptual Ewheldrive is practically no different from the standard Ford Fiesta. However, in fact, this is not at all. The most important thing in this car lies under his hood, as well as a body. Except for the battery directly, this car has absolutely nothing under the hood.
Ewheldrive electric car has two electric motors that are installed on its rear wheels. The total power of these two electric motors is 81 kW, or 110 horsepower forces. As the developers say, the main advantage of their development is that with the rear wheels of the car, in addition to electric engines, the brake mechanisms and the cooling system are also integrated. As a result, the rear wheel of this car weighs 53 kilograms, which exceeds the weight of the standard wheel Ford Fiesta by only 8 kilograms. At the same time, it should also be taken into account by the fact that the location of the batteries in the standard motor compartment is temporary and will continue to be transferred to the floor of the car interior, thereby reducing the actual length of the car. It should also be noted that Ewheldrive has changed the steering system as a result of which, it has become more mobile and can pass in places with a limited space for maneuver.
Since the car itself uses exclusively “green” technologies, it absolutely does not pollute the environment, and also practically does not create any noise that is so characteristic of cars with internal combustion engines.
