At the end of last week, by decree of Metropolitan of Krutitsky and Kolomensky, Dolgoprudny officially left the Dolgoprunen-Khimkinsky deanery and was allocated to a separate church district. On Tuesday, the official document signed by the Vladyka Juvenal was handed over to the head of the city.
The glory of the city of temples for Dolgoprudny was fixed several years ago. The abundance of Orthodox churches has repeatedly admired the high -ranking spiritual ranks who visited our city. At the end of last week, at the ceremony of the consecration of the Kazan Church in Likhachevo, Metropolitan Krutitsky and Kolomensky Juvenal decided to allocate the city of temples in a separate deanery.

The expert of the bishoper has become an official document the next day. The Decree of the Metropolitan was signed on December 5 – on the day of the death of Patriarch Alexy II. By the way, it was on his initiative 18 years ago that Orthodox churches throughout Russia were divided into church districts. Over almost two decades, Dolgoprudny managed to visit the Dmitrovsky, Mytishchi and Khimki deanery. Two years ago, the church district was renamed Dolgoprudnensky-Khimkinsky, as a sign of recognition of the priority of our city in the development of Orthodoxy. And so, at the end of 2008, Dolgoprudny became a separate deanery.
“This is an honor, it is a recognition that there are many temples in Dolgoprudny, that they are decorated with the efforts of residents, administration, clergy and parishioners. The new deanery, the new church district – is the recognition of merits, works and a new status, ”says Father Alexei, Rector of the Spassky Church in Kotovo.
All six Dolgoprudnensky parishes entered the new church district. Preobrazhensky Temple on Conduition Street, Pokrovskaya, Sergievskaya, St. George and two Spassky churches – in Kotovo and Pavelsevo. Archpriest Andrei Khmyzov, rector of the temple on an airship, was appointed dean of the Churches of the Dolgoprudnensky District. According to the newly appointed dean, the new status will allow the Orthodox long -term to develop further.
“The city acquires more. We have opportunities for greater development, for more operational connection with the diocese. And the ministry in this case is invariably.
