No one to dare to challenge today that Poland is one of the countries that give the whole world the best science fiction novels and stories. And all this is only due to the fact that it was in this country that the famous science fiction writer Stanislav Lem was born and created the whole world. Naturally, besides him, there are still many science fiction writers in Poland, but it is Lem that is the phenomenon that no one can explain. And not only in the field of science fiction, but also literature in general.
Critics say that even today, when Stanislav Lem remained in this world only on the pages of his works and in the hearts of fans, to unravel his secrets, bottomless like Solaris, no one is able to. But, the most interesting thing about this person is that no one will ever be able to solve his riddle, even if he tries to try his best and is ready to devote his whole life to this.
Stanislav Lem was an incredibly erudite, philosopher, but not calm, but daring and ready for a constant complex struggle. He never dwelled on topics, less than eternal. He was looking for the truth in his thoughts and works. He was looking for a place for gods, people, love, life, death in this world. He was sure that a person, as a civilizational element, was never created exclusively for a small ball called the Earth. He believed that humanity and the universe, this is one whole … something united and important, impossible without each other. It would seem that such naive thoughts and even a little childish, from the point of view of the scale of mankind and the entire universe. But, no one could argue with Lem in the seriousness of the arguments and arguments before, as he was not capable today.
He is the only science fiction who knew how to talk about inhuman and unrealistic so accessible and exciting. But, he always went in his works on the blade of razor misunderstanding. By the end of his life, Lem wrote more and more philosophical epics, rather reminiscent of his idol of Borges than full -fledged art works. Farther from science fiction, and more and more to the knowledge of human philosophy – this was the path of Lem in the years when his life path was already coming to an end. He seemed to be very far from his genre, but suddenly after the publication of the mask everyone realized that he was all the same unsurpassed Lem, with which he was always. Only now he is not at all interested in what was previously interested in. He went deeper and deeper into discussion about the world, sometimes going so far that not everyone was able to easily understand him.
