Referring to the results of a study by the German government, SueDeudeutsche Zeitung reports that from 2000 to 2008, the actual threshold of retirement age has grown a little – now retirement is not carried out as before in 62 years, but on a year later – at the age of 63 years.
To date, the share of German citizens working after 60 years reaches 3%. It should be clarified that in this case there are tangible differences between men and women. So, for example, in the West of Germany, the share of men working after 60 years is 40%, and the share of women is 32%(25%in the eastern lands).
In 1995, a study was conducted, the essence of which was to study the conditions and lifestyle of the Germans, whose age falls into the framework of 40 – 85 years. According to the established data, the inhabitants of Germany are now not only working longer, but also more actively use partial employment in age in order to prepare for the retirement.
So in the year before last, one of ten citizens of Germany, whose age fluctuates in the region of 55 – 59 years, as well as one of four at the age of 60 – 64 years, tried to change full employment to a partial in age. In turn, the government is trying to provide financial support for this trend, since it allows you to create new jobs for youth.
In addition, this study discovered another feature – almost a third of the Germans whose age hesitates within 40 – 85 years to be socially useful, even despite the fact that he does not know how to do it. Kristina Schroeder, consisting of the Minister of Family, Youth and Elderly, recently noted in this regard that the government intends to use this Treasure. One of the ways is to launch a program of the so -called “young elderly”, designed to care for patients and old people.
Today in Germany, retirement is possible since 65 years. Nevertheless, according to state plans since 2012, the “pension” age will increase by one month every year. Thus, by 2029, the threshold of retirement age will be 67 years. The government explains such an increase in the retirement age by increasing the average life expectancy, as well as a progressive reduction in the working -age population. According to the opposition, an increase in the threshold of the retirement age is justified only if the labor market is able to accept elderly citizens.
