What has changed in this area and whether public servants themselves are ready to provide such information?
The story of the declarations of civil servants dates back to 2009, when Dmitry Medvedev signed a number of anti -corruption decrees that regulate the procedure for providing officials of the named kind of information. These measures are called upon to eradicate the corruption of all kinds of state departments and make the activities of representatives of the leadership of the most transparent. Also, 2011, among other things, was marked by the fact that it was then that the first time was published information on personal income and income of family members of civil servants of the Russian Federation: president, administration employees, government members, judges, law enforcement officers, military, and parliamentarians, and parliamentarians.
To date, the provision of information about income deputies of the State Duma and senators is carried out on a voluntary basis. Summing up at the end of March 2018 showed that over half of the senators (98 out of 168) were ready to share personal financial information with public information. The vice speaker of the upper house Yuri Vorobyov, at the head of a special commission that controls the truth of information on the income of the senators, said that the decision to form the named controlling body (such a commission was created earlier and in the State Duma) was made in the Federation Council only on March 28, and, in accordance with the law, the submission by members of the House of Declarations is carried out only after this procedure. Not all senators were at the designated time in the place for objective reasons: some are on a working trip, some on vacation.
