Yuri Maksimov, 44 years old, midfielder, Verder Bundesliga 1, Waldhof Mangaym 2 Bundesliga

Yuri Maksimov left Dynamo Kiev in November 1997, although Valery Lobanovsky was against this. “Dynamo” in the Champions League simply fantastically (which only 7: 0 cost the sum of two matches against Barcelona), but Maksimov decided to exchange Kyiv for Bremen. There he joined another Ukrainian Victor Skripnik. Almost immediately, he became the main in Verder, but injuries nevertheless made adjustments to the career of Maksimov.

In his first season in Germany, he spent 12 matches for Verder, in which he scored 3 goals, and all victorious and gave 4 assists. The next season has become memorable for the Ukrainian, because he won his only foreign trophy – the 1999 German Cup. It was Maximov who became the best player of Verder in the German Cup. He scored a winning ball in the first round of the Cup and brought the command to the next round. Thus began the victorious tread of the Bremers. Maksimov scored in two more matches in a row, after which he paused to the final.

The formidable “Bavaria” awaited the “musicians” in the final of the “musicians”. Maksimov opened an account in the match already in the 4th minute, by this, creating a head start for the team, but the rivals managed to recoup. But the Bavarians spent a lot of effort, which resulted in misses in a penalty shootout – mistakes were made by masters as Efenberg and Matteus. So Maksimov became the owner of the German Cup, and with four goals entered the top five best bombers of that cup draw. In the regular championship, the Ukrainian spent 20 matches in which he scored 3 goals.

In the season-99/00, Maksimov spent 29 matches in the championship and scored 3 goals, but the second half of the season he was already mostly spare player Verder. And in the German Cup, he brought the team the final for the second consecutive, scoring the victorious ball Stuttgarter Kickers, but received the second yellow in that match and did not accept participation in the final. Verder lost in the final of Bavaria. Season 00/01 has become the last Bremen in a T -shirt for Maksimov.

Due to the conflict with the coach, he left the team in which he played in only eight meetings that season, and seven times was replaced. After Verder, he moved to Waldhof Mannheim. Injuries made themselves felt and Maximov took part in only 16 matches and scored 3 goals. Season 02/03 The Ukrainian was based on Waldhof, but the team constantly lost and in winter Maximov left Germany and headed for Rostov-on-Don. Over the years of performances in Germany, Maximov played 69 matches in the Bundeslig and scored 9 goals, in the second Bundesliga 27/3, in the German Cup 10/5 and in the UEFA Cup for Verder 15/3.
