By the summer of 1992, the company announced the next model of its model range. As planned for the release of the model for 1993, a slightly lightweight model of Volvo 850 was announced. This new model had the name Gle. She had a ten -valve five -cylinder engine with a volume of 3.8 liters and a capacity of 140 horsepower.
And a year later, not only the Gle brand, but also GLT was offered in the dealers of the dealers of this brand. Both of these cars were assembled using innovative solutions that helped to further increase the security level of passengers of the VOLVO brand car.
In the next line of cars, VOLVO introduced already a powerful sports version of the 850 Turbo car. Outside Sweden, this model is better known as T5. This model had a fairly aggressive engine that allows you to reach a power of 225 horsepower and the maximum possible torque of 300 nm. This “turbocharged” version of the car had more smoothed black bodies, as well as the bumper of the new designed design.
If this could seem insufficient to someone, then at the Geneva Automobile Salon, which was held in 1994, VOLVO was also represented by the 850 T-5R version. This version of the car had a limited circulation, which has stood only from 2,500 copies of cars with a bright yellow body color . The entire circulation of cars was sold out in just a few months, even despite the decent cost. After such success, VOLVO was released by another such series as in the amount of 2,500 copies of 850 T-5R, but this time, it was painted black. And this “black” series also dispersed without slowdown. 850 T-5R series cars had engines with a capacity of 240 horsepower.
A little later, Volvo has released 850 T-5R with a green body of the body, but modified in terms of improving passengers’ safety. Starting with this series of cars, all subsequent Volvo models began to have side airbags.
1996 was the last year when the company produced a car from the conveyor with an 850 index. Since 1997, Volvo began to produce the next line of cars, which were fundamentally different from the 850th as much as the 850th was different from its predecessors.
